December 17: Steam coal imports through the port of Mumbai edged down 12.26% to 260,372 tons in November 2015 against 296,778 tons in October, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
With the November figures, total steam coal imports through the port in the first eight months of the current fiscal of 2015-16 stood at 2,596,474 tons, showing a year-on-year drop of 2.75% against 2,670,019 tons seen in the same period of the last fiscal (2014-15).
Total imports of steam coal during 2014-15 stood at 4,351,200 tons.
Steam coal imports in November 2014 were at 338,158 tons.

In November 2015, all the consignments arrived from Indonesia in a range of Rs 3,785 – Rs 4,008 ($57-62) per ton.
October 2015 saw the entire volume arriving from Indonesia too but in a range of Rs 3,841 – Rs 4,185 per ton ($59-63) per ton.
