Mumbai Port to permit vessels of 11.7 mtrs draft during monsoon

April 22: The Mumbai Port Trust will permit vessels of 11.7 mtrs draft during the coming monsoon season, the port said in a circular issued on April 21.

“Considering the present minimum available depth of 12.5 mtrs at anchorage area, it has been decided to permit vessels of 11.7 mtrs draft during monsoon season,” the circular said.

The foul weather season for monsoon at Mumbai extends from May 25 to August 31, it said.
