Limestone imports through the port of Mundra decreased to one-fourth to 8,853 tons from 37,026 tons in December 2015, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
During the first 10 months (April-December) of the current fiscal (2015-16), limestone imports through the port stood at 100,494 tons.

Of the total limestone imports in January 2016, a volume of 324 tons came from China at a price range of Rs 12,217-Rs 12,671 ($182-$185) per ton, 6,773 tons came from Malaysia at a price range of Rs 3,725-Rs 4,006 ($40-$59) per ton, 808 tons from the United Arab Emirates at Rs 7,509 ($111) per ton and the remaining 948 tons came from Vietnam at a range of Rs 4,122-Rs 8,823 ($61-$131) per ton.
Of the total limestone imports in December 2015, 106 tons came from China at a price range of Rs 12,217-Rs 12,226 ($182) per ton, 2,385 tons from Malaysia at a unit price of Rs 3,939 ($59), 278 tons from Turkey at a price range of Rs 3,102-Rs 7,480 ($46-$101) per ton, 34,257 tons from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at Rs 1,035-Rs 7,487 ($15-$111) per ton.
