Mundra Port handled record 100 mt cargo in FY’14

April 11: Mundra Port, flagship of Adani Port and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), handled record 100 million tons (mt) of cargo in 2013-14 compared to 82.13 mt in 2012-13, registering 21.76% growth, the company said in a statement.
With this, the port handled the largest amount of cargo in the country among all the commercial ports, the statement added.
Of the total volume of cargoes, the port handled coal of almost 9.2 mt (except for power plants) in 2013-14 and, for the month of March, it handled almost 0.35 mt coal, a senior official from the port told ICMW.
In a statement, APSEZ said the vision is to handle 200 mt cargoes ahead of its original timeline of 2020.
