Mundra Port’s Dec coking coal imports fall 80% m-o-m

January 16: Coking coal imports through Mundra Port in December 2014 fell almost 79.85% to 40,825 tons from 202,586 tons recorded in November 2014, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In December 2013, coking coal imports via the port stood at 181,048 tons.
Total imports of coking coal through Mundra Port during the first nine months of 2014-15 stood at 807,977 tons against 875,202 tons reported during the same period of the previous financial year.

During December 2014, the entire material came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 6,233-Rs 9,010 ($100-$144) per ton.
However, in November 2014, the entire material came in from Australia at Rs 5,940-Rs 8,924 ($96-$144) per ton while during October 2014, the entire material came from Australia at a price range of Rs 6,871-Rs 8,991 ($110-$144) per ton.
