Mundra Port’s Oct coking coal imports double m-o-m

 November 19: Coking coal imports through the port of Mundra shot up 109.20% to 91,000 tons in October 2015 from 43,500 tons seen in September 2015, as per provisional information available with ICMW.

In October 2014, coking coal imports via Mundra had stood at 64,982 tons.

 For the first seven (April-October) of the current fiscal (2015-16), coking coal imports through Mundra Port increased a marginal 4.43% to 589,554 tons against 554,566 tons imported in the same period of the previous fiscal.

 Following is the monthly break-up of coking coal imports via Mundra Port in 2015-16 and 2014-15 (in tons):

In October 2015, a volume of 72,000 tons of the material came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,865-Rs 6,749 ($90-$102) per ton and 19,000 tons from Mozambique at a price range of Rs 4,320-Rs 6,358 ($67-$95) per ton.

 In September, 28,500 tons of coking coal had come in from Australia at a price range of Rs 6,840-Rs 9,823 ($102-$146) per ton and 1,500 tons from Mozambique at a range of Rs 6,300-Rs 6,358 ($95) per ton.
