Mundra Port’s October coal handling up sharply y-o-y

November 11: Coal handling at Mundra Port, the flagship port of Adani Ports and SEZ Limited, increased sharply by almost 57% to 0.303 million tons during the month of October against a volume of 0.193 mt handled in the same month of last year, a senior official from the port told ICMW.
On a month-on month basis also, coal handling at the port increased from 0.136 mt in September 2014.
Of the total coal handled during the month, steam coal stood at 0.268 mt, up from 0.108 mt handled in the same month of 2013 while coking coal fell to 0.035 mt from 0.085 mt in October 2013, the official said.
On a cumulative basis, the port’s coal handling for the April- October period of 2014-15, stood at 0.712 mt against 0.742 mt in the same period of last fiscal.
Steam coal handling during April- October of 2014-15 stood at 0.567 mt, up from 0.442 mt in the same period of 2013-14 while coking coal handling at the port during the period under review fell to 0.146 mt against 0.300 mt handled the last fiscal, the official said.
