Mundra Port’s imported coal stocks up 8% m-o-m in May

May 22: Imported coal stocks at Gujarat’s Mundra Port increased 7.69% to 0.70 million tons (mt) as on the first day of May, compared to 0.65 mt on the first day of April, according to data available with ICMW.
Of the total coal stocks at the port, that of steam coal as on May 1, 2014, stood at about 0.50 mt while coking coal stocks stood at nearly 0.20 mt on the same day.
With this, imported coal stocks at seven major and two private ports of India as on the first day of May, 2014, stand revised to 5.116 mt compared to a provisional compilation of 4.416 mt by ICMW.
Accordingly, India's imported coal stocks at nine ports increased marginally from a level of 5.108 mt on April 1, 2014.
