Mundra’s Feb coking coal imports down 22% m-o-m

Coking coal imports through the port of Mundra decreased 21.95% to 93,700 tons in February 2016 compared to 120,062 tons in January 2016, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
In February 2015, coking coal imports via Mundra Port had stood at 203,793 tons.
However, during the first 11 months (April-February) of FY2015-16, coking coal imports through Mundra Port were down by 12.02% to 959,748 tons from 1,090,871 tons imported in the same period of the previous fiscal.

In February 2015, around 78,700 tons of non-coking coal came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 5,190-Rs 6,191 ($76-$90) per ton, 15,000 tons came from Mozambique at a unit price of Rs 6,015 ($88).
In January 2016, a volume of 110,062 tons of the material came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,114-Rs 6,187 ($76-$90) per ton and 10,000 tons from Mozambique at a unit price of Rs 5,927($88) per ton.
