November 19: Non-coking (steam) coal imports through Mundra Port fell 47.84% to 611,238 tons in October 2015 compared to 1,171,975 tons in September, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
In October 2014, steam coal imports through the port stood at 2,072,527 tons, registering a drop of 40.63% on a y-o-y basis.
For the first seven months (April-October) of the current fiscal (2015-16), steam coal imports through the port stood at 8,667,413 tons, down 39.55% from 14,338,632 tons imported in the same period of the previous fiscal.

In October 2015, around 518,772 tons of non-coking coal came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,071-Rs 4,242 ($31-$65) per ton and 92,466 tons came from the United States at Rs 5,280-Rs 5,961 ($81-$91).
In September, 1,053,777 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 3,368-Rs 7,143 ($51-$107) per ton, 118,198 tons came from the US at Rs 5,115-Rs 5,790 ($78-$86)per ton.
