NALCO floats enquiry to procure imported coal

December 24: National Aluminium Company Ltd (Nalco) has floated a limited tender enquiry with shortlisted central public sector undertakings (CPSU) to procure 55,000 tons (+/-10%) imported steam coal for its captive power plant at Damanjodi in Orissa.

The company is looking to procure coal with GCV of 5,800-6,500 Kcal/kg (ADB), ash content of 8-20% (ADB), FC of 30-50% (ADB), VM of 25-45% (ADB) and sulphur content of 0.7-0.9% (ADB).

The shortlisted CPSUs will have to submit their bids by January 6, 2014 till 11 am.

"Our coal requirement is extremely urgent and thus the first rake shall have to be despatched from the port of discharge at the earliest and within 30 days from the date of placement of the order. The balance material has to be despatched at the rate of 2-3 rakes per week," an official said.
