NINL firms up coke prices
20 Feb 2014
February 20: NINL has firmed up its coke prices by Rs 300 per ton for minimum lifting quantity of 500 tons in February.
NINL has offered around 15,400 tons LAM coke with basic prices of Rs 18,100 per ton for minimum lifting of 500 tons to 2,200 tons by road. However, for lifting in large quantities by rail or road, discounts have been provided.
NINL's LAM coke contains 12.5% of ash max; sizes available between 20-80 mm. NINL's offer is till February 28, 2014.
Across the country, coke prices have dropped over dull demand, however on the Indian east coast, these have seen a comparatively lesser drop.
Prices either dropped slightly or remained at the same level in the southern market as availability of coke is a little weak, sources said.
According to traders based on the east coast of India, prices raised by NINL are not big and buyers may sustain the rise as material availability is a key issue currently.
However, owing to the downtrend in the steel market, demand is also low and traders expect the market to revive only after 4-5 months.
