January 20: The board of directors of National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) has approved an investment proposal of Rs 12,532.44 crore in setting up a 1,600-MW power plant in Odisha, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The Darlipali Super Thermal Power Project will be set up in the Sundargarh district of Odisha.
The project, which is expected to be completed in 2018, still awaits clearance from the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF), the company added.
