NTPC extends bid submission deadline for 7 mt imported coal
11 Jun 2014
June 11: NTPC Ltd, Asia’s largest power generation company, on June 11 said it has extended the bid document submission and techno-commercial bid opening dates by another 13 days to procure 7 million tons (mt) imported coal for its various power plants after incorporating a few more conditions.
The company had floated four separate invitation for bids (IFB) for procurement of imported coal and the last date of submission of bids and techno-commercial bid opening dates was initially fixed to June 5, but was extended to June 12 and now again to June 25.
In a corrigendum published on June 11, NTPC said that sale of the Bidding Documents will be reopened from June 11 to June 24. Bids shall be received up to 1430 hours on June 25 and Techno-Commercial Bids shall be opened 30 minutes to two hours thereafter.
The company is looking to procure 2.25 mt imported coal for its Talcher, Kaniha, Farakka, Kahalgaon and Barh Power Plants, 2.05 mt coal for Simhadri and Ramagundam power plants, 1.55 mt coal for Dadri, Sipat and Mouda power plants, and 1.15 mt imported coal for Rihand and Vindhyachal power plants.
The extension of dates was done to incorporate certain changes in two clauses pertaining to FOB coal price of Technical Specification under the clause 5(ii)A under the heading ‘Price Based on Indices’ and Clause 3.3 of ‘Pricing Methodology’, the company said in the corrigendum.
Separately, the company has also extended the last date for bid submission for a separate tender to procure 1.0 mt imported coal for its Simhadri Power Plant on C&F basis to June 25 from June 12 for reasons similar to its IFB to procure imported coal on plant delivered basis.
