NTPC extends submission date for Pudimadaka coal

March 23: NTPC Limited, which had, on December 29, 2014 floated a tender for long- term procurement of imported coal on c.i.f. basis for its Pudimadaka super thermal power project (4,000 MW) in Andhra Pradesh, has extended the offer submission data to April 22, 2015.

It has also extended the bid offer opening data to May 7, 2015.

Pudimadaka, a coastal power plant, will require about 14 million tons of coal annually.

However, the exact annual coal requirement would be worked out during the RFP/supply agreement based on the coal quality selected.

The plant is likely to come into operation during 2018-19.

Coal shall be supplied by the seller on c.i.f. basis from the coal mines declared as part of the qualifying requirements through suitable vessels such as Panamax, Capesize etc matching with the unloading facility at the discharge point.

The vessels sent by the supplier shall be unloaded/discharged at the discharge point by NTPC. The discharge point would be a dedicated berthing and unloading facility to be developed by NTPC. Details of the discharge point would be furnished subsequently.
