NTPC floats EoI for acquisition of thermal projects

November 17: NTPC Limited, the largest power utility in the country, has invited an expression of interest (EoI) from state electricity boards/power generation companies, independent power producers (IPP), power plant developers, captive power producers or their authorised financial intermediaries for offering their coal-based thermal power projects to be acquired by NTPC, according to information available with ICMW.
A similar EoI was earlier sought by NTPC during February, 2014. Now, the company wants to identify some more coal-based power projects for possible acquisition.
Any state electricity board/ power generation company, independent power producer, power plant developer, captive power producers or their authorised financial intermediaries are eligible for offering their operational/commissioned/synchronised/under-construction/under planning coal-based thermal power projects having requisite land, fuel and water linkages, statutory clearances and power purchase agreements (PPA) in place.
Interested parties can submit their bids till December 15, 2014.
