NTPC’s coal imports increase 46.73% in FY15 y-o-y

April 10: Imports of steam coal by National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd (NTPC) during 2014-15 increased 43.73% to 15.491 mt from 10.557 mt recorded during 2013-14, according to the provisional data of the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) available with ICMW.
Imports of steam coal by NTPC in March 2015 rose 9.10% against its February 2015 figures.
Imports in March 2015 rose to 1.570 mt from 1.439 mt in February.
Imports by NTPC, however, were 113% of the target of 1,383 mt set by CEA for the month.
The imports in March were also considerably up compared to 840,000 tons imported in March 2014.
