NTPC’s new CMD is Gurdeep Singh

Gurdeep Singh, on February 4, joined as Chairman and Managing Director of NTPCL Ltd, Asia’s largest power generation company.

A mechanical engineer by profession, Singh was the Managing Director of Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd, prior to joining NTPC.

Singh has over 28 years of experience in the power generation sector.

He started his career with NTPC Ltd and has worked with various Indian and multi-national companies like Powergen, CLP, IDFC, CESC and AES.

He has worked in different areas of the power sector, ranging from business development to projects and operations.
