NTPC signs tripartite escrow agreement

November 15: NTPC Limited, India's largest power utility, has signed a tripartite escrow agreement with the Coal Controller and State Bank of India in Kolkata recently for its Pakhri Barwadih mine in Jharkhand, the company said in a statement.

Sujoy Majumdar from the Coal Controller Office, Thapar from SBI and R S Rathee, General Manager (PB,CB&KD), NTPC, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

This agreement is a final step towards obtaining permission for opening a mine.
