Total gypsum imports via New Mangalore Port during 2015-16 stood at 330,153 tons, rising 16.18% compared to 284,184 tons imported during financial year 2014-15, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
On the other hand, gypsum imports stood at 54,538 tons via New Mangalore Port in March 2016, sharply up 580.53% compared to 8,014 tons imported in February 2016.
A volume of 57,150 tons of gypsum had been imported via this port in March 2015.

In March 2016, the entire volume came from Oman at a price of Rs 1,021 ($15) per ton.
In February 2016, a volume of 108 tons came from Iran at Rs 6,098 ($89) per ton and 7,906 tons from Oman at Rs 1,015 ($15) per ton
