Met coke imports via New Mangalore Port stood at 42,268 tons in February 2016, up 53.70% month-on-month compared to 27,500 tons imported in January 2016, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
A volume of 26,849 tons of the material had been imported via this port in February 2015.
Total met coke imports through the port during the first 11 months (April- February) of 2015-16 stood at 411,546 tons against 310,460 tons seen in the same period of the previous fiscal.
Imports of met coke through the port in financial year 2014-15 stood at 310,460 tons.

In February 2016, the entire material had come from China at a price range of Rs 6,423-Rs 8,676 ($94-$127) per ton.
In January 2016, the entire material arrived from China at Rs 8,737 ($130) per ton.
