New Mangalore Jan coking coal imports up 89%

February 20: Coking coal imports through New Mangalore Port during January 2015 rose sharply by almost 88.79% to 94,130 tons from 49,857 tons recorded in December 2014, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In January 2014, coking coal imports via the port stood at 53,444 tons.
Total imports of coking coal through New Mangalore Port in April-January, 2014-15 stood at 694,900 tons against 454,311 tons recorded in the same period of the previous financial year.

During January 2015, the entire material came from Australia at a price range of Rs 7,099-Rs 8,461 ($114-$136) per ton whereas in December 2014, the entire material came in from Mozambique at a price of Rs 7,526 ($120) per ton.
