New Mangalore Nov coking coal imports up 25% m-o-m

December 29: Coking coal imports through New Mangalore Port during November 2014 rose sharply by almost 25.05% to 122,691 tons from 98,113 tons recorded in October 2014, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In November 2013, coking coal imports via the port stood at 98,087 tons.
Total imports of coking coal through New Mangalore Port in April-November, 2014-15 stood at 550,913 tons against 351,112 tons recorded in the same period of the previous financial year.
Following is the monthly break-up of coking coal imports via New Mangalore Port in 2014-15 and 2013-14 (in tons):

During November 2014, out of the entire quantity, 31,999 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 6,568-Rs 9,061 ($106-$146) per ton, 14,000 tons came from Canada at a price of Rs 7,484 ($121) per ton while the balance 76,692 tons came in from Mozambique at a price of Rs 7,658 ($124) per ton.
However, in October 2014, 23,000 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 7,952-Rs 9,061 ($128-$145) per ton while the balance 75,113 tons arrived from Canada at a price of Rs 7,619 ($122) per ton.
