New Mangalore Oct coking coal imports down 36% m-o-m

November 26: Coking coal imports through New Mangalore Port during October 2014 fell sharply by almost 35.58% to 98,113 tons from 152,303 tons recorded in September 2014, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In October 2013, coking coal imports via the port stood at 25,853 tons.
Total imports of coking coal through New Mangalore Port in April-October, 2014-15 stood at 428,222 tons against 253,026 tons recorded in the same period of the previous financial year.
Following is the monthly break-up of coking coal imports via New Mangalore Port in 2014-15 and 2013-14 (in tons):

In October 2014, 23,000 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 7,952-Rs 9,061 ($128-$145) per ton while the balance 75,113 tons arrived from Canada at a price of Rs 7,619 ($122) per ton.
However, during September, 79,953 tons came from Australia in a price range of Rs 8,171-Rs 9,061 ($134-$149) per ton while the balance 72,350 tons came in from Mozambique at a price of Rs 7,274 ($118) per ton.
