November 30: Steam coal imports via New Mangalore Port stood at 425,424 tons in October, rising 52.19% month-on-month compared to 279,530 tons imported in September 2015, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
There were 137,599 tons of non-coking coal imports via this port in October 2014.
Total steam coal imports through the port during the first seven months (April-October) of 2015-16 stood at 2,415,845 tons against 1,877,819 tons in the same period of the previous fiscal.
Imports of steam coal through the port in financial year 2014-15 stood at 3,859,485 tons.

In October 2015, out the entire material, 375,864 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,105-Rs 33,963 ($31-$513) per ton and 49,560 tons from South Africa in a price range of Rs 2,706 -Rs 4,506 ($41-$68) per ton.
In September 2015, out of the entire material, 142,380 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,021-Rs 4747 ($30-$71) per ton and 137,150 tons from South Africa at a price range of Rs 3,511-Rs 4,567 ($30-$71) per ton.
