New Mangalore gypsum imports at 56,542 tons in Jan

February 20: Imports of gypsum via New Mangalore Port stood at 56,542 tons during the month of January 2015 whereas during the previous month, gypsum imports stood much lower at only 108 tons through this port, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
During the first 10 months (April-January) of 2014-15, total gypsum handled by the port stood at 226,926 tons whereas the figure stood at 82,573 tons during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
Following are the monthly details of gypsum import via New Mangalore port on 2014-15 and 2013-14:

In January 2015, the entire material came in from Oman at a price of Rs 1,275 ($20) per ton whereas during the month of December 2014, the entire material came in from Iran at a price of Rs 5,697 ($91) per ton.
