New Mangalore gypsum imports surge in 2014-15

April 29: Gypsum imports through New Mangalore Port rose sharply to 284,184 tons in financial year 2014-15 from 137,600 tons in 2013-14, resulting in an increase of 106.52% y-o-y, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports in March 2015 were at 57,150 tons while there only 108 tons were imported in February 2015.
In March 2014, only 27 tons of gypsum were imported through New Mangalore Port.

During March, the entire material came in from Oman at an average price of Rs 1,063 ($17) per ton.
