New Mangalore limestone imports down 53.70% in November

December 24: Imports of limestone via New Mangalore Port stood at 25 tons in November 2015, down 53.70% compared to 54 tons imported in October 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

There had been 27,610 tons of limestone imports via this port in November 2014.

Total limestone imports through the port during the first eight months (April-November) of 2015-16 stood at 693 tons against 29,053 tons in the same period of the previous fiscal.

Imports of limestone through the port in financial year 2014-15 stood at 29,743 tons.

Following is the monthly break-up of limestone imports via New Mangalore Port in 2014-15 and 2015-16 (in tons):

In November 2015, the entire volume came in from Malaysia at a price of Rs 7,944 ($122) per ton.

In October 2015, the entire volume came in from Egypt at a price of Rs 7,486 ($115) per ton.
