New Mangalore limestone imports resume after gap

November 30: After a three-month gap, imports of limestone resumed via New Mangalore Port with 54 tons in October 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
There had been 351 tons of limestone imports via this port in October 2014.
Total limestone imports through the port during the first seven months (April-October) of 2015-16 stood at 668 tons against 1,443 tons in the same period of the previous fiscal.
Imports of limestone through the port in financial year 2014-15 stood at 29,743 tons.

In October 2015, the entire volume came in from Egypt at a price of Rs 7,486 ($115) per ton.
