New Mangalore’s Dec steam coal imports up 66.67% m-o-m

January 27: Non-coking coal imports through New Mangalore Port during December 2014 rose 66.67% to 67,500 tons from 40,500 tons recorded in November, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In December 2013, non-coking coal imports via the port stood at 501,826 tons.
Total imports of non-coking coal through New Mangalore Port in April-December, 2014-15 stood at 1,654,579 tons against 3,295,230 tons recorded in the same period of the previous financial year.

In December 2014, the entire material came from South Africa at a price range of Rs 4,297-Rs 5,282 ($69-$85) per ton whereas during November 2014, the entire material came in from South Africa at a price range of Rs 4,177-Rs 5,013 ($67-$80) per ton.
