New Mangalore’s Feb coking coal imports down 95%

April 1: Coking coal imports through New Mangalore Port during February 2015 were down sharply by almost 94.52% to 5,162 tons compared to 94,130 tons in January, 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW
In February 2014, coking coal imports via the port stood at 18,972 tons.
Total imports of coking coal through New Mangalore Port in April-February, 2014-15 stood at 700,062 tons against 473,284 tons recorded in the same period of the previous financial year.
Following is the monthly break-up of coking coal imports via New Mangalore Port in 2014-15 and 2013-14 (in tons):

During February 2015, the entire material came in from Australia at a price of Rs 6,568 ($105) per ton while in January 2015, the entire material came from Australia at a price range of Rs 7,099-Rs 8,461 ($114-$136) per ton.
