New Mangalore’s Jan steam coal imports up 31%

February 20: Non-coking coal imports through New Mangalore Port during January 2015 rose 30.95% to 88,390 tons from 67,500 tons recorded in December, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In January 2014, non-coking coal imports via the port stood at 208,960 tons.
Total imports of non-coking coal through New Mangalore Port in April-January, 2014-15 stood at 1,742,969 tons against 3,504,190 tons recorded in the same period of the previous financial year.

During January 2015, the entire material came in from South Africa at a price range of Rs 4,257-Rs 5,425 ($68-$85) per ton whereas in December 2014, the entire material came from South Africa at a price range of Rs 4,297-Rs 5,282 ($69-$85) per ton.
