No G-1, G-2, G-3 grades of coal offered in August

September 26: No G-1, G-2, G-3 grades of coal were offered for allotment via the e-auction platform of MSTC during the month of August.

However, during the previous month, a very strong demand for G-1 grade (GCV above 7,000 Kcal/kg) was noticed as the entire offered quantity of 12,000 tons got allotted during the month at a weighted average price of Rs 6,469 per ton.

In July, for G-2 grade (GCV of 6,701-7,000 Kcal/kg) coal, a moderate demand was witnessed as 5,500 tons got allotted out of the offered quantity of 13,750 tons during the month at a weighted average price of Rs 4,870 per ton.

However, there was strong demand for G-3 grade (GCV of 6,401-6,700 Kcal/kg) coal in July as the entire offered quantity of 670 tons got allotted during the month at a weighted average price of Rs 4,553 per ton.
