No coking coal import via New Mangalore for 4 months

There are no coking coal imports via New Mangalore Port for the last four consecutive months, as per provisional data available with ICMW. Last time coking coal was imported via this port was in August 2015.

There were 49,857 tons of coking coal imports via this port in December 2014.

Total coking coal imports through the port during the first nine months (April-December) of 2015-16 stood at 121,659 tons against 648,084 tons in the same period of the previous fiscal.

Imports of coking coal through the port in financial year 2014-15 stood at 812,391 tons.

Following is the monthly break-up of coking coal imports via New Mangalore Port in 2015-16 and 2014-15 (in tons):

During August 2015, the entire material came from Australia at a price of Rs 6,391 ($97) per ton.
