No steam coal imports via Kolkata Port in March

April 15: There were no steam coal imports through the port of Kolkata in March 2014, though a quantum of 7,200 tons had arrived in February 2014, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
Consequently, steam coal imports via Kolkata Port for the entire financial year of 2013-14 were at 1,735,675 tons against 1,696,998 tons registered in the previous fiscal, showing a slight increase of 2.30%.

It may be recalled that in February, imports included 5,000 tons from South Africa in a price band of Rs 6,062- Rs 6,640 ($96-$105) per ton while the balance 2,200 tons arrived from Indonesia at a unit price of Rs 6,376 ($101).
