Nov PCI imports via Vizag Port decline 53% m-o-m

 December 8: PCI coal imports through Vizag Port in November 2015 went down 53.38% to 32,522 tons against October’s 69,760 tons, as per provisional data available with ICMW.

 In November 2014, a much lower volume of 6,306 tons of the material had been imported via this port.

 With the addition of the November figures, total PCI imports for the first eight months of the current fiscal of 2015-16 stood at 405,431 tons against 307,261 tons reported in the same period of the previous fiscal, rising 31.95% in this period year-on-year.

 On a cumulative basis, imports of the material for fiscal 2014-15 stood at 646,679 tons.

Following is the monthly break-up of PCI coal imports via Vizag Port in 2015-16 and through 2014-15:

In November 2015, a single consignment arrived from Australia at a unit price of Rs 4,803 ($73).

October 2015 saw two consignments arriving from Australia in a price range of Rs 4,856-4,951 ($73-76) per ton.
