Nov PCI imports via Vizag Port drop to 6,306 tons

December 11: A much lower volume of 6,306 tons of PCI coal was imported through Vizag Port in November 2014 against a more robust volume of 32,216 tons in October, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
In November 2013, PCI coal imports through Vizag Port stood much higher at 26,000 tons.
On a cumulative basis, imports of the material for the first eight months of the current fiscal stood at 307,261 tons while the same for the previous fiscal were at 342,986 tons.
Following is the monthly break-up of PCI coal imports via Vizag Port in 2013-14 and through 2014-15:

In November, a single consignment arrived from the US at a unit price of Rs 6,500 ($104).
However, in October, a single consignment arrived from Australia at a unit price of Rs 7,082 ($114).
