Nov coal handling by 9 ports falls 3.60% m-o-m

The total handling of coal by nine ports - Cochin, Dahej, Haldia, Magdalla, New Mangalore, Paradip, Kandla, Tuticorin, Porbander - in the month of November fell by 3.60% to 8,680,746 ton from 9,005,212 tons in October, according to a compilation by ICMW based on data received from ports.
On year-on-year (y-o-y) basis, the handling of coal by the mentioned ports in November this year was down 8.52% compared with 9,487,343 tons handled in November 2014.
Despite m-o-m and y-o-y fall in coal handling, the total handling by these ports during the first eight months (April-November) of 2015-16 remained marginally (1.28%) up at 73,736,496 tons compared with 72,806,714 tons handled during the corresponding period of 2014-15, the compilation revealed.
