Nov steam coal imports via Paradip drop 18% m-o-m

December 17: Steam coal imports through the port of Paradip were down 17.92% to 760,333 tons in November 2014 against a volume of 926,431 tons in October 2014, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Steam coal imports in November 2013, stood lower at 418,980 tons.
In the first eight months of the current financial year (2014-15), steam coal imports through the port stood at 6,007,527 tons against 4,284,695 tons imported during the same period of 2013-14.
Total steam coal imports in 2013-14 were at 6,907,374 tons

In November, imports consisted of 453,249 tons from Indonesia in a band of Rs 727 – Rs 4,230 ($12-68) per ton, 150,200 tons from South Africa in a band of Rs 4,688 – Rs 5,232 ($75-84) per ton, 86,790 from Australia at a unit price of Rs 5,185 and the balance 70,094 tons from Mozambique in a band of Rs 4,946 – Rs 5,032 (480-81) per ton.
In October, imports consisted of 709,558 tons from Indonesia in a band of Rs 2,747 – Rs 4,463 ($44-72) per ton, 172,995 tons from South Africa in a band of Rs 4,927 – Rs 5,782 ($79-93) per ton and the balance 43,918 tons from Australia in a band of Rs 4,721 – Rs 4,762 per ton.
