Oct closing coal stocks at 125 TPPs at 10.4 mt

November 14: Total closing stocks of coal at 125 thermal power plants (TPPs) stood at 10.412 million tons (mt), according to data released by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).

Closing stocks at plants located in the western region were at 3.313 mt, followed by the eastern region at 3.102 mt. In the northern region, the stocks were at 2.248 mt and in the south at 1.749 mt, data showed.

The plants having the highest closing stocks were Mundra UMPP (693,000 tons), Talcher STPS (580,000 tons), Maithon RB TPP (370,000 tons) and Ramagundam STPS (360,000 tons).

In contrast, 8 operating plants had zero stocks as of October 31.
