Oct coal handling by 15 Indian ports up 7% m-o-m

November 28: Total coal handling by 15 major and minor Indian ports during October 2014 rose by 6.96% as compared to the previous month, according to a compilation by ICMW.
A total of 11,799,180 tons of coal was handled by the above ports during the month of October 2014 as compared to 11,031,418 tons handled by the same number of ports in September 2014, the compilation revealed.
During the corresponding month of the previous year (October 2013) total coal handling by these ports stood higher at 9,752,705 tons.
Total coal handling, both domestic and imported, by 15 major and minor ports of India during 2014-15 stood at 77,736,758 tons while the figure was at 75,242,970 tons during the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a compilation by ICMW.
