Oct gypsum imports via New Mangalore at 57,765 tons

November 26: Import of gypsum via New Mangalore Port stood at 57,765 tons during the month of October 2014 while during the previous month the material was not imported via this port, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
During the corresponding month of the previous year, gypsum imports via the port also stood at nil.
During the first seven months (April-October) of 2014-15, total gypsum imported via the port stood at 170,276 tons whereas the figure stood at 82,573 tons during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
Following are the month-wise figures of gypsum import via New Mangalore port during 2014-15 and 2013-14:

During the month of October 2014, 108 tons came from Iran at a price of Rs 5,669 ($91) per ton whereas the rest of 57,657 tons came from Oman at a price of Rs 1,307 ($21) per ton.
