Oct limestone imports via Cochin Port up 58% m-o-m

 November 18: Limestone imports via Cochin Port stood at 2,561 tons during the month of October 2015, showing a rise of 58.18% compared to 1,619 tons imported in September 2015, as per provisional information available with ICMW.

Meanwhile, limestone imports through this port during the first seven months (April- October) of 2015-16 were at 16,043 tons, resulting in a marginal fall of 0.67% in comparison to 16,152 tons imported during the same period in 2014-15

However, 3,029 tons of limestone were imported via the port in October 2014.

The following table gives month-wise details of limestone imports via Cochin Port in FY2015-16 & FY2014-15:

In October, the entire volume had come in from the UAE at a price range of Rs 7,342-Rs 7,533 ($112-$115) per ton.

In September, the entire volume had come in from the UAE too but at a price of Rs 7,387 ($111) per ton.
