PCI coal imports through Karaikal at 0.30 mt in FY16

Imports of PCI coal through Karaikal Port in 2015-16 (April-March) stood at 300,886 tons, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

Though ICMW does not have PCI coal import data for the first seven months (April-October), imports during the balance five months (November-March) of 2014-15 stood at 53,937 tons.

However, there were no imports of PCI coal in March, February and January, 2016 through the port, while in December 2015 imports of the material stood at 40,000 tons,

In December 2015, the entire consignment came from Australia at Rs 5,406 ($80) per ton.
