PCI coal imports via Kolkata down 5.31% in March m-o-m

April 15: PCI coal imports through the port of Kolkata dropped 5.31% to 45,289 tons in March 2014 against a quantum of 47,830 tons recorded in February, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
With this, total PCI imports via Kolkata Port stood at 397,790 tons for the entire fiscal of 2013-14 over 370,125 tons reported for the previous fiscal of 2012-13. Consequently, there was an increase of 7.47% in PCI imports in the just-concluded fiscal over the preceding year.

In March, all the consignments arrived from Australia in a price band of Rs 7,479- Rs 7,918 ($121-$128) per ton.
In February 2014 too, all the consignments arrived from Australia in a price band of Rs 7,479 – Rs 8,874 ($119-$141) per ton.
