October 28: PCI coal imports through the port of Kolkata declined to 19.77% to 31,440 tons in September 2013 compared to 39,185 tons imported in August 2013, as per information available with ICMW.
Total PCI imports via Kolkata port stood at 143,420 tons in the first six months (April-September 2013) of 2013-14 compared to149,577 tons imported in the same period last year (April-September 2012-13).
PCI coal imports in September 2012 stood at 12,818 tons.
Total PCI coal imports in the entire financial year of 2012-13 stood at 370,125 tons.

In September 2013 the entire amount was imported from Australia at a price range of Rs 8,309-Rs 9,136 ($127-$153).
In August 2013, the entire consignment arrived from Australia in a price band of Rs 7871 – Rs 8,714 ($120-$141) per ton.
