October 28: Pulverised Coal Injection (PCI) coal imports through the port of Vizag dropped 36.74% to 43,935 tons in September 2013 against 69,454 tons recorded in August 2013, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
With this, import of PCI coal in the first six months of 2013-14 stood at 314,728 tons against 305,166 tons during the corresponding period in 2012-13.

In September 2013, the entire material arrived from Australia in a price band of Rs 8,190 – Rs 8,385 ($122-$131) per ton.
In August 2013, too, the entire consignment arrived from Australia but in a price band of Rs 7,015 – Rs 8,975 ($114-$146) per ton.
