PCI coal imports via Vizag down 5.15% in June m-o-m

July 9: Pulverised Coal Injection (PCI) imports through the port of Vizag fell 5.15% to 22,919 tons in June 2014 against a volume of 24,165 tons reported in May, 2014, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
In June 2013, PCI coal imports through Vizag Port stood at 28,064 tons.
Imports of the material for the first three months of the current fiscal stood at 112,654 tons while the same for the previous fiscal was at 129,187 tons.
Following is the monthly break-up of PCI coal imports via Vizag Port in 2013-14 and through 2014-15:

In June, the entire quantity was imported from Australia at a unit price of Rs 6,334 ($106).
PCI coal imports for May comprised a single consignment from Australia at Rs 7,541 ($124) per ton.
