PCI coal imports via Vizag nosedive 94.86% in Oct m-o-m

November 25: Pulverised Coal Injection (PCI) coal imports through the port of Vizag dropped 94.86% to 2,258 tons in October 2013, against 43,935 tons reported in September 2013, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
With this, imports of PCI coal in the first seven months of 2013-14 stood at 314,728 tons against 319,151 tons during the corresponding period in 2012-13.
Following is the monthly break-up of PCI coal imports via Vizag port in 2012-13 and through 2013-14:

In October 2013, the entire consignment arrived from Australia at a unit price of Rs 8,221 ($131).
In September 2013 too, the entire material arrived from Australia in a price band of Rs 8,190 – Rs 8,385 ($122-$131) per ton.
