PCI coal imports via Vizag surge 163% in July m-o-m

August 28: Pulverised Coal Injection (PCI) imports through the port of Vizag soared 163% to 60,219 tons in July 2014 against a volume of 22,919 tons reported in June 2014, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
In July 2013, PCI coal imports through Vizag Port stood at 72,152 tons.
Imports of the material for the first four months of the current fiscal stood at 172,873 tons while the same for the previous fiscal was at 201,339 tons.
Following is the monthly break-up of PCI coal imports via Vizag Port in 2013-14 and through 2014-15:

In July, all the three consignments arrived from Australia in a band of Rs 6,586 – Rs 6,674 ($109-110) per ton.
In June, the entire quantity was imported from Australia at a unit price of Rs 6,334 ($106).
